Xalten Systems, a forward-thinking technology company, is seeking a Senior Embedded Software Engineer to join our team. We specialise in developing cutting-edge solutions that address complex challenges across various industries and the defence sector. Our focus lies in creating groundbreaking products in the domains of robotics, embedded systems, sensors, and sensor networks.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and maintain firmware for microcontrollers and programmable devices (FPGA).
Interface microcontrollers with various peripherals.
Manage power, thermal, and reliability aspects of electronic designs.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
Work on bug fixing and improving system performance.

Qualifications:

Solid understanding of the theory and practice of analog and digital electronics.
Proficiency in programming in C / C++ on any platform.
Knowledge of DSP, VHDL / Verilog is a plus.
Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) is beneficial.
Solid understanding of best practices and guidelines in practical electronics.
Attention to detail, good teamwork, and initiative.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, enabling effective technical communication and seamless teamwork.

Additional Qualifications:

Strong understanding of embedded systems concepts (e.g., real-time programming, resource constraints, device drivers).
Proficiency in Assembly Language, RTOS, and embedded debuggers.
Experience developing low-level drivers.
Experience with debuggers such as gdb, lldb, etc.
Good understanding of OOPS concepts and design patterns.
Good understanding of stacks, memory management, heaps, multithreading, and memory profiling.
Ability to analyse hardware design, including schematics, board-level design, board layout, and signal integrity.

Experience Level:

We are seeking candidates with a minimum of 3 years of experience in embedded software development. To be effective in this role, the candidate should possess an understanding of firmware/software that works hand-in-hand with specific electronic designs.
