Responsibilities:

  • 1. Design and Development:
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to conceptualise, design, and develop mechanical systems and components.
    • Create detailed CAD models and engineering drawings to facilitate product development.
    • Conduct feasibility studies and simulations to ensure designs meet performance and safety requirements.
  • 2. Prototyping and Testing:
    • Oversee the fabrication of prototypes and participate in testing and validation processes.
    • Analyse test data and provide recommendations for design improvements.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve any mechanical issues during the prototype phase.
  • 3. Documentation:
    • Maintain accurate records of design changes, specifications, and test results.
    • Prepare technical reports, presentations, and documentation for internal and external use.
    • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • 4. Continuous Improvement:
    • Stay current with industry trends and advancements in mechanical engineering.
    • Participate in brainstorming sessions and contribute innovative ideas to enhance product performance and functionality.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or undergraduate in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g.- Fusion 360, SolidWorks, AutoCAD etc.).
  • Proficiency in creation of 2D drawings for manufacturing, Assembly etc.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical principles, thermodynamics, and material science.
  • Familiarity with prototyping and testing methodologies.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in Sheet Metal Design.
  • Knowledge of finite element analysis (FEA) software. (eg: OpenFoam, Ansys etc.)
  • Familiarity with 3D printing and additive manufacturing processes.
  • Project management skills.
  • Strong understanding of concepts like DFM, RCA, FMEA etc.
  • Basic knowledge of Programming languages.
  • Basic knowledge of Electronic components, circuits etc.
